ALL players should attend picture day even if not purchasing individual photos.  Coaches and many players like to have a complete team picture.

Coaches will receive team t-shirts later this week.  They will be distributed to each team Saturday morning just before your team’s scheduled picture time.

• Coaches and Teams were announced!  Your child’s coach will be in touch with you to confirm practice dates/times.
• Field Painting – we still need volunteers to help paint the fields.  Only one person stepped up last night.  Please contact our Field Maintenance Coordinator, Jarrod Stahlman, if you can assist during any of the following dates/times:
  • Friday, 3/15/13 – 5pm at Walker Township Fields
  • Saturday, 3/16/13 – 9am at Governors Park Fields
  • Saturday, 3/23/13 – 9am at Payne Field
• Fundraiser - Cooke Tavern Soups!  Order forms were distributed.  Orders and money are due on Saturday, April 6. Bring them with you to pictures!  Fundraiser pick up is on April 27 (location TBA).  Coaches have extra forms, if needed.
• Pictures - Order forms were distributed.  Pictures are scheduled for Saturday, April 6, at Bellefonte Middle School Auxiliary Gym.  The schedule for each team will be provided closer to the date, so check back for details!  Coaches have extra forms, if needed.
• April Board Meeting - The April Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, at 7pm at the Spring Township Municipal Building.

These first game of the season is on April 6, 2013.  The season lasts for 8 weeks, excluding Memorial Day weekend.

Age Brackets

Use this table of birth dates to determine which age category is appropriate for your child:

Beginning with the 2012-13 season, play-ups to the next age bracket will no longer be allowed in the inhouse/recreational league unless the child’s birthday falls within the month of August.  This rule is to help keep players with their true peers and classmates.

U6 Registration

BSA has developed a partnership with Soccer Shots to provide a strong beginning for our U6 players. If your child will be playing in the U6 age group (born between 8-1-2006 and 7-31-2008), please go here to register: http://centralnorthernpa.soccershots.org.

U8 and Older Registration

If you prefer to register in-person, representatives from the Board of Directors will be available on Sunday, January 27, from 1 – 4pm at Bellefonte Middle School near the main gym.  Players from past Travel teams will be available for questions from 1:30 – 3pm.

The Bellefonte Soccer Association is always looking to create more depth with our referees.  Refereeing is a great way to have fun and EARN SOME EXTRA MONEY!  If you are interesting in becoming a PA West referee for our games, register for an official clinic at http://www.pawest-referee.org/resources/clinics/.

Complete the three steps below at least one week prior to the clinic date.

1. Register and pay for a 1-day Grade 8 referee clinic of your choice.  For a list of clinic dates/times, visit http://www.pawest-referee.org/calendar/.
2. Review the video clips concerning the Laws of the Game.
3. Successfully complete the online pre-test.

A passing score of 75% on the certification test is required.  The test is given at the end of the 1-day clinic.

Dates:  First session is Saturday, 2/2/13, and will continue every Saturday for 6 weeks from 2 – 3pm.  The dates are 2/2, 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16.

Location:  Bellefonte YMCA

Cost:  $30 per player

Children aged 6-12 are invited to join Penn State’s Men’s and Women’s soccer teams and coaches for a special clinic to honor Mack Brady. The event is free but donations are encouraged and will support the Mack Brady Memorial Soccer Scholarship which will benefit a Penn State Men’s soccer player.

To participate, complete and bring a registration form to the clinic.
